You don’t need to fiddle with cables or with multiple batteries and try to remember how the wires are connected.

Connect the system to a shore-based AC power supply, and the charging starts.

The Precision Charger Can Charge Gel Batteries

While both products can charge flooded AGM lead-acid batteries and Lithium batteries, only the precision charger can recharge Gel Batteries.

The Number Of Banks

A battery’s “bank” is the rating that indicates how many batteries the product can recharge simultaneously. 

⚡ A single bank charger is generally designed for one 12-volt battery (12-volt motor). 
⚡⚡ A double bank charger is designed for two 12-volt batteries (24-volt motor). 

This increases in the same ratio for up to 5 banks (in the case of the precision charger.)

The Precision charger has more banks than the Digital charger. 

You can choose from 1 to 5 banks for the Precision charger, while the Digital charger only has 1 to 4 banks. 

This means that the Precision charger can charge more batteries simultaneously, or if a higher voltage battery is being charged, the banks can be “daisy chained” together to provide the higher charge required.

The Output Current Per Bank 

The Precision charger outputs more amps per bank than the Digital charger. More amps mean faster charging.

The Precision charger can deliver 6 to 15 amps per bank, while the Digital charger can only deliver 5 to 10 amps per bank.

There is a higher amp output precision charger model available, and it has 4 banks instead of the 5 in the 10-amp model.

They can also charge different types of batteries, although the Precision charger is the only one that can recharge Gel Batteries.

I have used both chargers while fishing in saltwater and freshwater, and they held up very well. 

They are waterproof and can withstand being underwater to one meter for up to 30 minutes. The casings resist saltwater corrosion and are designed to resist harsh marine environments.

The Precision charger has a few additional features that make it more reliable and durable in saltwater conditions:

• It has low-line voltage compensation, which helps to adjust for voltage drops caused by long extension cords or low AC power supply. This ensures that the battery receives the optimal charging voltage regardless of the input voltage. 
• The Precision charger also has battery equalization. It helps remove the sulfate crystals from the battery plates and extend the battery life. This feature is handy for flooded lead acid batteries, which are more prone to sulfation in saltwater conditions.

Minn Kota’s Digital and Precision chargers are excellent marine battery charging choices.
